Hot Sauce Review: Local Talent Pineapple Mango Habanero

Back at it again in 2023 with a review for one of my favourite Canadian hot sauce makers. This is Pineapple Mango Habanero from Local Talent Hot Sauce.

I opened this bottle on New Year’s Eve to share with a few friends over some wings. I think they made a good choice when choosing this sauce.

Pineapple Mango Habanero is a sweet, saucy, and spicy addition to any meal that needs a kick. With its colour as vibrant as the taste, this hot sauce is a knock-out for sure.

Hot Sauce Review: Dawson’s Big Smoke Chipotle Sauce

Another gem from Dawson’s Hot Sauce, Big Smoke Chipotle is a smoky and spicy hot sauce. This quality hot sauce is made with peppers like Chipotle, Jalapeno, and Red Chili. The heat level on this one is about a medium-high, it will tingle your tongue, but not enough to make you recoil in pain.

The smoky flavour of Big Smoke Chipotle makes this a great sauce for just about anything. If you’re looking for gourmet heat, this hot sauce is for you, not too hot and definitely not mild.

Smoky Chipotle by Supernova Hot Sauce Review

Smoky Chipotle by Supernova Hot Sauces is a smoky and tangy thin hot sauce that pairs well with many North American staples. It is not very hot but does a good job of adding a pleasant zip to your meal.

You can find it in most big-name grocery stores across the country. If you’re looking for something cheap and easy, this might be the hot sauce for you.

Review: Local Talent Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce

I first heard about Local Talent Hot Sauce from a post on a Facebook Group. Something about the image from the post (below) really made me want to try their sauces. I looked them up and found out they were from Toronto so I placed an order as fast as I could.

I ordered one of each of their sauces and when the box came I immediately tried the Scotch Bonnet sauce. All I can say is wow! This hot sauce has everything I could ever ask for in a hot sauce, great flavour, and fantastic heat level. I finished almost half of the bottle on my first tasting so I had to rush this article.

Kultivar & Co Ghost Pepper and Molasses Hot Sauce Review

Ghost Pepper and Molasses hot sauce by Kultivar & Co would be great on BBQ ribs. The molasses is sweet and earthy and the ghost peppers provide just enough heat to make it enjoyable.

The uniquely shaped and clear bottle showcases the chunky and ingredient rich hot sauce contained inside.

Floating around the hot sauce you can see bits of blended coffee, cayenne peppers, and dates.

This offering from Kultivar definitely has what it takes to fall into the craft hot sauce category.

What a surprising find!

Lost In The Sauce (LITS) OG Boodoo Hot Sauce Review

OG Boodoo by Lost In The Sauce (LITS) is a tomato-based hot sauce made with Scotch Bonnet, Habanero, and Jamaican peppers. I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of tomatoes in hot sauce, I find it always tastes like spicy ketchup.

While OG Boodoo does taste like spicy ketchup, it does have a unique quality that sets it apart from other tomato-based sauces.
